All Faculty: there will be a sign up sheet for chaperoning the Homecoming Dance in the Staff Lounge. Come hang out with the coolest kids in town!

 

Students

 

Do you like hockey? How about hearing a great choir sing? Here’s your chance for both! The Guilford Madrigals will be singing the National Anthem at the Rockford Icehogs opening night game! The game is Friday, October 10th & the tickets are just $8 bucks! See Ms. Wilson in room 103 to order your tickets before October 1st. Don’t miss your chance to see a great game & hear Guilford’s own medal winning choir!

 

Any student who wants to bring a NON Guilford student to the Homecoming Dance must have a guest pass completed & turned in to the Main Office by Today, September 19th at 4:30pm. Forms may be picked up in the Main Office.

 

Attention: All Seniors! Senior shirts are in & can be purchased for $10 in the Student Store during lunches. This is the only Senior Shirt available & profits benefit our 2009 Prom!

 

Students: Cafeteria lines 1, 2, & 3 are the only lines where free & reduced lunches are available. Line 4 is a cash only line and the snack bar in the Commons is also cash only.

 

The school nurse wants to remind all 9th graders and students new to Rockford Schools that they must turn in a health exam and shot record to the Nurse’s Office. They will not be allowed to attend school after October 15th. There are NO exceptions!

 

Anyone bringing donations for powderpuff games- bring your donations the day of the games, during set-up. Remember what you signed up to bring!!

 

Attention: Hispanic Juniors & Seniors- if you have at least a 2.0 gpa you are invited to the National Hispanic College Fair Tuesday, October 28th. Sign up in the Counseling Office.

 

Interested in Aviation? This may be for you: This event is a complimentary fly-in event from Chicago’s O’Hare airport on Saturday, October 11th. Students will fly from O’Hare to Southern Illinois Airport in the morning, tour the aviation facilities as well as the Main Campus, eat lunch, tour campus and get a free event T-shirt. The students will be flown back to Chicago, returning at approximately 5:30pm.

 

This event is space limited, so please apply as early as possible. Those applying early may also be considered for free “Introductory Flights” in Southern Illinois University’s Flight aircraft during the event.

Duke University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions invites interested students to meet with the Duke admission’s officers to information and answer questions about the university, the admissions process, financial aid, and much more. A program will be held in Chicago on October 14th and October 21st. See Mrs. Pauley in the College and Career Center for more information.

 

Starting September 23rd and continuing until the end of the month, Guilford will be hosting visits from the following colleges and universities:

Iowa State University

St. Ambrose

University of Illinois- Springfield

Marquette University

Monmouth College

Illinois Wesleyan

To meet with the admissions counselors from these institutions, juniors and seniors may sign up in the Counseling Office at least 24 hours ahead of time. Space is limited so sign up early!

 

Dear Sophomores: This message is from your class President. On Thursday the 25th of September is superhero day for the Sophomore class. Make your own hero or heroine, be creative and be powerful.
