Come support the Lady Vikings Volleyball Team at 6:30 tonight in their regional match against Hononegah at Guilford!

 

On Monday, November 3rd, we are going to run a Mock election during 2nd hour. We will put the ballots in your box by 8:15 Monday morning. Would you please help us distribute the ballots to your students and have them vote right after the announcements. We will have students picking up these ballots during the hour. Any questions please talk to Pam Labunski, Madelyn Johnson, or Brad Carlson.

 

Guilford vs. Cary-Grove Football Play-Off Tickets are available for $4.00 each in the Athletic Office.  The game is Saturday - 7:00PM at Cary-Grove High School.

Music Audition dates at Alverno College are coming up. Along with traditional music degrees they offer Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and Bachelor of Arts in Music Related Business. See Mrs. Pauley in room 116 for details.

 

46th Annual Nancy Thorp Poetry Contest of sophomore and junior girls is coming up. The deadline for submissions is November 15th. Contact Mrs. Pauley in room 116 for details.

 

Boys & Girls Basketball Tryouts: Students must have a physical less than 1 year old on file with the Athletic Office or the Nurse to participate in tryouts.

*Students must get a note from the Athletic Office (room 234) to present to the coach BEFORE tryouts!

Students enrolled in Athletic Tutoring for eligibility, MUST REMAIN in Tutoring to participate in a Winter Sport! If  you do not continue to attend Tutoring YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE!

 

ALL BOYS SOCCER UNIFORMS are to be turned in to the Athletic Office NO later than Friday!

 

GIRLS SOCCER SIGN-UP MEETING THIS Thursday, October 30TH!! All players are welcome regardless of experience! Come sign-up, meet the new coaches, & start making plans for the season.

Sophomore Class meeting on Thursday, October 30th- This means all interested sophomore students should come to this meeting, after school from 3:45-4:30 in room 147. We will be discussing class shirts and future events.

 

Football play-off tickets will be sold today & Friday during lunch. Guilford vs. Cary-Grove

Attention: Freshman & Sophomore Football Players: You need to get all equipment turned in as soon as possible. Jerseys and pants need to be laundered. If your equipment is not turned in by this Friday, October 31st, your name will be turned in to the Athletic Director and you will be fined.

 

You can return equipment to the Varsity locker room immediately after school or to the Athletic Director, room 234, during the school day. Thank you & have a nice day!

 

Viking Nation: The 4th annual VIKINGPALOOZA talent show is scheduled for Thursday, April 30th.

 

Auditions will be held the first week in April.

 

It is not too early to start thinking about what you are going to do. This show is only as good as the acts that come out to audition, so get off the couch and put something together. We are looking for singers, dancers, musicians, magicians, comedians, actors, gymnasts, jugglers, and what ever else you have to offer. Get creative & get involved in the best show Rockford has to offer. Any questions- See Mr. Lantz

 

Students- Do you like the direction our economy is headed? Do you like high gas prices? If you answered no then it is time to do something about it…. With your vote for president in Guilford’s mock election, you can voice your opinion as to who will run the country for the next 4 years. On Monday, November 3, students will cast their votes during 2nd hour. Assuming there are no hanging chad’s, the results will broadcast during 2nd hour announcements on Tuesday, November 4th. See Mr. Carlson, Mrs. Labunski, or Ms. Johnson in room 111 or 112 if you would like to help be part of the Mock Election.

 

Attention: Seniors!!- It’s now time to turn in your senior friend ads. The cost ranges from $85 & $200. They can be turned in to room 151 before 1st hour. Any questions? Come to room 151 before or during 1st hour. All ads must be turned in by Tuesday, November 25th.
