21st Century / ASAP
9/26/06
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Here are a few pieces of important information about the 21st Century/ASAP Program that is beginning on Monday, October 2nd. If you are receiving this letter now it means that your child has been recommended by you and their teachers. One of our goals at RESA is for all students to be successful. On October 2nd, we will meet your child and let them know what their responsibilities and expectations are. On the back side of this paper is a copy of what they will receive from us. Please make sure you are also aware of what we expect of them. Also, this is a three-strikes-you’re out-program so please help us reinforce good behavior and helpful study skills. Thank you very much!
After school tutoring: Monday-Thursday 3:30-5pm
Activity Days: Fridays 3:30-5pm
Snack: All five days from
3:30-3:37pm
October 2nd (Monday): Meet and greet in the cafeteria to discuss rules/expectations and meet the program directors and tutors.

Student Expectations
1. I will be on time for snack in the cafeteria (3:35-3:45).
2. I will sit at my assigned table. If I need to use the restroom I will ask my tutor and hurry back.
3. I will walk to my tutoring room with my tutors.
4. I must take all snacks that are offered to me. If I do not want to eat them, I may put them in the "extra’s bin".
5. I must be in my tutoring room at 3:47, ready to work, or I will receive a strike.
6. I must participate at least two days a week to be allowed at the activity on Fridays.
7. I must work the entire time (until 4:55) or I will receive a strike. If I finish all of my homework I must have other school things to do (study, read, make flashcards, rewrite class notes, etc.) If I do not have anything to work on, I will not stay after school that day.
8. I will take the activity bus home at 5pm or have someone pick me up by the time the buses leave RESA. If I miss my bus, or my ride picks me up late I will receive a strike.
9. I understand that if I do not comply with the rules of this program I will
visit the after school coordinator (Ms Dawson or Mrs. Young), make phone calls
to my parent/guardian, and receive up to three strikes. After three strikes I am
out of the program for the remainder of the year.
