Learn and Serve Pond Project

On September 22, 2001, students, parents and staff members along with community volunteers created a pond ecosystem. Tim Siegner of Natural Water Gardens, in conjunction with the "Ponds For Kids" program, donated his time to assist students in creating this ecologically sound aquatic ecosystem.

Aquascape Designs coordinated a national campaign to enable schools to construct their own pond ecosystems. By installing a pond system that becomes self-sustaining in a controlled environment, students can observe the ebb and flow of nature happening before their eyes. Besides conducting experiments on water quality, they can also observe the animals that colonize the area.  This projects adds to RESA's beauty and to educational opportunities for students.
