The GED program helps older students earn their high
school diploma by taking classes to help them prepare for the GED test.
Entrance requirements:
Ages: at least 18 years old (or 17 if they provide documentation that
they have been out of school for one year, are a parent, or are currently
expecting a child)
Students must:
Be Illinois residents
Provide a letter from their high school certifying that their ninth grade
class has graduated.
Have a reading level 9.0 or above
Complete the orientation requirement
Schedule:
Session 1: Monday through Friday, 8-10:30 a.m.
Session 2: Monday through Friday, 11:20 a.m. to 1:50 p.m.
Evening session: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Attendance Policy:
No more than one absence is allowed. Three tardies are equivalent to one
absence. On the second absence, the student will be dropped from the program
Curriculum:
Classes are offered in test preparation for math, science, social studies,
Constitution, and reading.
