The Young Adult Program provides Rockford District #205 students with attendance issues an opportunity to try alternative education. Program components include:
• Class size limited to 15
• Individual learning structure
• Support services available for students

Entrance requirements: For students with less than 10 credits.

Age: 16

Students should be:
Self-directed learners with a recommended 8.0 reading level
Currently enrolled in a District 205 High School

Documents required:
Recommendation from Assistant Superintendent of Student Services

Potential students must:
Complete intake process with alternative assessment specialist

Schedule:

Flexible.

Attendance Policy:

Absence will result in administrative intervention and possible drop from the program.

Curriculum:

Classes are offered in freshman English, algebra, biology, social studies, art, and health

The Opportunities Program provides Rockford District #205 students recommended by the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, an opportunity to try alternative education. Program components include:
• Flexible scheduling
• Open entry—open exit
• Class size limited to 15
• Individual learning structure
• Strict attendance policy
• Support services available for students

Entrance requirements:

Students should be:
Self-directed learners with a recommended 8.0 reading level
Officially dropped from their home high school (with all fees paid)

Documents required:
Recommendation from Assistant Superintendent of Student Services

Potential students must:
Complete intake process with alternative assessment specialist

Schedule:

Monday through Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Attendance Policy:

Absence will result in administrative intervention and possible drop from the program.

Curriculum:

Classes are offered in reading, English, algebra, geometry, biology, chemistry, U.S. history, government, economics, work study, some electives, and GED preparation.
