Rockford Evening High School is an opportunity to successfully complete
a graduation requirement in a subject previously, but unsuccessfully,
attempted.
- A student may transfer two credits from evening high school to apply
toward graduation.
- Two additonal credits may be accepted at the discretion of the home
school prinicpal.
- Students are enrolled on a first come, first served basis.
- Classes are offered based on sufficient enrollment and the availability
of certified staff.
Classes cancelled due to weather or other emergencies are re-scheduled
from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm after the following week's session. This
is the only notice you will receive regarding the policy for make-up
sessions due to weather or emergencies. Credit Recovery:
A student who has failed English 9-1, 9-2; Algebra 1-1, 1-2; or Biology 1, 2, MAY qualify
for the Rockford Evening High School Credit Recovery tuition system. Seating
iis limited. Please check with your high school counselor for details. Entrance requirements/Cost:
Ages: 16 to 21
Students must be currently enrolled in one of the district high schools.
TRANSCRIPT AND/OR FAILURE CARD MUST ACCOMPANY REFERRAL AND APPLICATION.
A completed Health Information Form must be submitted at registration.
If a student has an IEP or 504 Plan, attendance at the evening
high school may be considered a change in educational placement and
require an amendment to the students IEP/504 Plan.A copy of the IEP/504
plan and
signature indicating approval by the case manager is required.
Cost:
Resident of District 205: one class - $170, two classes $320
Out of District students: one class - $250, two classes $480
Method of payment: Cash, Cashier's Check, Money Order, or Credit Card.
No personal checks accepted.
Books and Materials:
If books and/or materials are not returned at the end of the evening
session, grades are not released to the student's home school.
Schedule:
Fall 2009:
Thursday evenings: September 17, 2009 to January 14, 2010 from 4:30
pm to 6 pm.
Tuesday evenings: September 22, 2009 to January 12, 2010 from 4:30
to 6 pm (Tuesday session will meet Thanksgiving week)
Attendance/Behavior Policy:
Students who incur more than one absence or more than three tardies in
a class, for any reason, will not receive credit in that class. Students
who are more than 50 minutes late are considered absent for that class.
Students who disrupt the operation of Evening High School are subject
to dismissal with no refund and no credit.
Transportation:
Students must provide their own transportation. Parking is available.
