Look at these wonderful pictures of different spots in the Coconino National Forest in Arizona. The Coconino National Forest was home to me for two summers when I worked for the National Forestry Service at Happy Jack, Arizona.. A group of us took plant and animal surveys. It's unbelievable that there is still land in this huge country of ours that has not been surveyed. This forest has WIDE OPEN SPACES!

The Fire Lookout, her daughter & me standing at the top of the Fire Tower.
Right now, my time is filled with not only teaching but also with being a student again. I love learning and could easily become a professional student. My studies are taking me closer to my high school dream of obtaining my doctorate of education in curriculum and leadership.
I am a member of the Golden Apple Academy as a past teacher of distinction. I am also on the technology committee and Renaissance/WINGS committee at Eisenhower Middle School and have been active in several district-wide assessment taskforces. I have participated in the district's TEEL Project in which participants learn new technology and how to use it with our students. This web page was a requirement of the National Science Foundation Curriculum Grant Project in which I participated for two years.
In my free time (which isn't much), I like to crochet, swim, fish, garden and watch the stars!

Here is a picture of my grandfather. Seventy years ago, he built this cottage in the northwoods of Wisconsin. He was a naturalist and taught his grandchildren a great respect for nature. I have two cousins who were a foresters, one of whom now teaches science, a cousin who is an Ecologist, and myself a science teacher. He influenced more than just me!
